Attendance, attendance, attendance. Congrats to my group on a great month of training in March and more importantly great attendance during this time period. The group averaged 73%. This month our group had 6 Water Polo sessions which proved way more challenging than first expected. PS. The coaches team didn’t do so well in the games he played (I’m sure it was fixed).

Vernon Spring Invitational Swim Meet
April 14 – 15, 2012
The Kamloops Classic Swim Club placed second out of 9 teams at the at the Vernon Spring Invitational Swim Meet April 14 – 15, 2012. The Classic’s had 37 swimmers compete in the competition while bring home 98 medals from the competition.
Outstanding performs for the weekend included:
Cohen Freeze in the 10 & Under Boys age group brought home 4 Gold medals and 1 Silver while qualifying for the BC “AA” Provincial Championships in Victoria this June in the 100 (1:17.13) and 200 (2:46.11) Freestyles. Riley McRae in the 11 yr old Boys age group also qualified for the BC “AA” Provincials in the 100 (1:17.93) Freestyle.
In the 10 & Under Girls Age group Ashley Bagabuyo had three third place finishes in the 50 & 100 Fly and 50 Free while Sarah Koopmans had three second place finished in the 50 & 100 Fly and 50 Free.
In the 15 & Over Girls Heather Waterous made a successful comeback after a back injury last summer to have a second place finish in the 200 Breaststroke and three third place finishes in the 200 Free, 100 Back and 200 IM. Helena Marken had 100 % lifetime best times in the meet while having three third place finishes in the 100 Fly, 50 Free and 400 Free.
Logan MacLeod in the 14 & Under Boys age group had a major breakthrough weekend winning won 5 events. The wins came in the 100 & 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 IM and 50 Breaststroke. He also had 1 second place in the 400 Free and a third place finish in the 200 Fly.
Jamboree swimmers swam extremely well. Nine year old Lauren Prokopetz swam under the 4:00 mark in the 200 IM, with a time of was 3:52.61 this placed Lauren in the gold medal finish. This feat allows Lauren to compete at the Regional All Level Swim Meets. Lauren also came home with a silver medal in the 100 breaststroke. Haley Rowden 8 yrs old, placed 2nd in 200IM. Patrick Thrower, 11 years old picked up a 2nd in 50 free and a third in 50 fly. Gursevak Uppal was on fire taking the gold medal spot in the 100 breast and 100 back, a 2nd in the 200 IM and a third in the 200free for 8 and under boys. Christopher Hammond came home with 2 bronze place finishes in the 100 back and 200 free.
Senior 2 swims which were 97% of best times or better, the group averaged 69% of their swims at 97% of their lifetime best SCM times or better. This is very good given the given the time of year and our training cycle. Swimmers with 50% of their swims within 97% of their best times or better were as follows:
